ELIGIBILITY:

Designers based in Texas are invited to participate in Austin Fashion Week. We’re looking for the best and the brightest independent designers to grace Austin with your stunning work.

Designers must work through a vetting process conducted by an Austin Fashion Week committee of experts. This panel will determine which designers are actually admitted into Austin Fashion Week as an official participant. Please note that while all applicants will be featured on the Austin Fashion Week website, not all applicants will be featured inside retail stores and salons. See the bullet points below for clarifications. Please note that designers from Austin are guaranteed to receive 75% of the available spots at retail stores and salons.

As a participant, you are agreeing to do the following:

1. Being hosted inside a pre-chosen retail store or salon in the Austin area (we create the pairing) for the entirety of Austin Fashion Week (August 14-21, 2010). You will work with the retail store or salon to set up space that works for both of you based on any limitations you both may have. You and the store or salon can determine how to manage any sales of your merchandise that occur during the event. ONLY IF YOU ARE CHOSEN AS AN OFFICIAL PARTICIPANT.

2. Host one event along with your store or salon during Austin Fashion Week. You and your retail or salon partner will be responsible for any costs associated with that event. ONLY IF YOU ARE CHOSEN AS AN OFFICIAL PARTICIPANT

3. Provide a 10% discount to any customer holding the Passport to Fashion (a book customers can have stamped to be in the drawing for a $5000 shopping spree). ONLY IF YOU ARE CHOSEN AS AN OFFICIAL PARTICIPANT

4. Pay the appropriate participation fees.

In return, you will receive (CHOOSE ONE):

OPTION A:

1. A profile page on FashionWeekAustin.com including a biography of your business along with photos. This item is GUARANTEED whether you pass through the committee or not.

2. A button so the public can vote for you for the Austin Fashion Awards. This item is GUARANTEED whether you pass through the committee or not.

3. The ability to submit photos and a sample of your work to the Austin Fashion Week committee for review. The committee will determine if you will be paired with a retail store or salon during Austin Fashion Week. This item is GUARANTEED whether you pass through the committee or not. PLEASE NOTE: The sample you provide the committee will NOT be returned to you. It will be included in a silent auction benefitting Austin Involved at either the Kickoff Event or at the Austin Fashion Awards After Party.

4. Nomination to be considered by the critic’s panel for the Austin Fashion Awards. This item is GUARANTEED whether you pass through the committee or not.

5. You receive one vote in the Peer Awards category so you can vote for your own favorite designer in Austin (you may not vote for yourself). This item is GUARANTEED whether you pass through the committee or not.

6. Your event(s) posted on the official Austin Fashion Week calendar and a feature on the daily email blast for your event(s). ONLY IF YOU ARE CHOSEN AS AN OFFICIAL PARTICIPANT

7. Up to 4 tickets to the Austin Fashion Week Kickoff event at a 20% discount.

8. 1 ticket to the Austin Fashion Awards (ONLY IF YOU ARE CHOSEN AS AN OFFICIAL PARTICIPANT) and up to 4 extra tickets at a 20% discount (This item is GUARANTEED whether you pass through the committee or not).

9. 1 ticket to the Austin Fashion Awards After Party (ONLY IF YOU ARE CHOSEN AS AN OFFICIAL PARTICIPANT) and up to 4 extra tickets at a 20% discount (This item is GUARANTEED whether you pass through the committee or not).

COST: $75

OPTION B (includes all of OPTION A plus):

1. Entry into a team for the Austin Fashion Week Kickoff event. NOTE: Teams will be chosen at random. A designer will be paired with a photographer, makeup artist and hair stylist (models may be picked by the team from the participating models list). NOTE: If you are an accessories or jewelry designer, you will also be paired with a clothing designer to finish out the look. Each team will create a photo shoot prior to Austin Fashion Week and submit one photo for gallery placement at the Kickoff Event. Additionally, each team will create a look for the runway portion of the Kickoff Event.

2. Mention as a team member in the Austin Fashion Week Kickoff program.

3. 2 tickets to the Austin Fashion Week Kickoff event.

COST: $125

OPTION C (includes all of OPTIONS A and B plus):

1. Logo placement in the bank of logos at the bottom of all pages on FashionWeekAustin.com.

2. Half Page ad in the Passport to Fashion.

3. Half Page ad in the Austin Fashion Week Kickoff program.

4. Half Page ad in the Austin Fashion Awards program.

5. Insertion of promotional material in VIP gift bags at the Kickoff event, the Austin Fashion Awards and the Austin Fashion Awards After Party.

6. Product giveaway (you provide the product) in the Silent Auction at both the Kickoff event and the Austin Fashion Awards After Party benefitting Austin Involved.
